The New Hercule Piorot Film

Death on the Nile is Kenneth Branagh second film that he has directed of the Hercule Poirot novels. This Murder Mystery is about how Hercule Poirot on vacation in Egypt and he boards a river steamer which turns into a search for a murderer when a couple’s ideal honeymoon is tragically cut short.

Compared to the other Murder Mystery like the Murder on the Orient Express I felt that this movie was even better. However, this movie did start a bit slow, and it got better but after the first murder it picked up and you kept on guessing throughout the film as there are so many twists and turns that you don’t expect. I also liked how each of the characters had their own little story, which was interesting to see, and I felt that it was it gave the storyline more depth and understanding. I also felt that was good about the film was a bit of backstory Hercule Piorot and how it linked well into the story well. Kenneth Branagh did say in an interview that it is not exactly to the book.

This film has got an amazing cast, some include Annette Bening, Armie Hammer, Letitia Wright, and Gal Gadot. The location, costumes and music to this film was also excellent. I felt that the script was good and, but it some of the beginning of the film it got a bit confusing. During, the film I felt that the acting was superb.

Overall I would say that I definitely would go and recommend this film especially if you love a good Murder Mystery because this film makes you think multiple of times on who the killer was. I definitely want there to be other one of these as it would be intriguing to see who they would cast and what the story would be next time.
